No Surprises Act
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that was enacted in 2020 to protect patients from unexpected medical bills by increasing transparency in billing. The law is particularly applicable for individuals using out-of-network providers. Under this law, patients are entitled to receive a good-faith estimate of expected fees prior to receiving services. You are also entitled to receive timely updates should that estimate change in the future for any reason.
