Treatment Approach
My work is guided by evidence-based interventions. Much of my treatment approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). However, I also integrate elements from other therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to your unique needs. I believe that symptom relief is best achieved by helping you better understand and modify your thought processes, lean into what is most important to you, capitalize on your strengths, and reshape the relationship between your mind and body.
My goal is to help you get back to your life as quickly as possible, using a collaborative and solution-focused approach that joins my clinical expertise and your expertise about yourself to develop practical skills, insights, and lasting change. My style is laid back, personable, and engaging. I balance being supportive with being firm and encouraging when needed and using humor where appropriate.

Training and Experience
I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Georgia State University. I then worked in research and an inpatient setting for several years prior to beginning graduate school. I completed my doctoral training at Drexel University in Philadelphia with a specialization in clinical child psychology. My research training has spanned several areas including the development and implementation of social-emotional intervention programming in schools, early detection of autism, the intersection between autism and trauma, and the value of participatory action research with youth. I completed my internship and postdoctoral residency at Compass Health in St. Louis.
Throughout my training and career, I have had the opportunity to train under several prominent psychologists and institutions and have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, community mental health, and private practice. I have extensive experience in the field of mental health treatment including contributions to the field through published research, providing trainings to both professionals and lay audiences, and providing the highest quality of care to clients.
